The results of the 2006 Prairie State Achievement High School Exam were released.
Josh Adams, Forest Park Review, wrote an article dated March 20, 2007 titled, "Scores Continued High Schools' Downward Trend, Fewer Proviso Students Performing at Grade Level".
Mr. Adams writes, "Almost 72 percent of District 209 juniors aren't reading at an 11th-grade level. More than 81 percent can't perform grade-level math and more than 84 percent aren't meeting state proficiency standards in science. On the 2006 exam, Proviso students generally scored lower than they did in 2005. Average scores in reading, math and science all fell. Also, the percentage of students meeting or exceeding grade-level expectations saw declines across the board. In recent months, the school board has been bombarded with rhetoric from the district's superintendent on the need to establish new priorities. Fields has openly criticized the district's past practices of floating fat contracts to inefficient administrators and consultants, all the while neglecting classroom needs. There have been no priorities for spending, other than the self-serving needs of those in control," Fields said of Dist. 209's recent past."

I was told Shirley Madlock is not running for school bd because of Chris. She wanted to make a change and found out she was another puppet of Chris. I have known Chris for a long time. He has become evil and is power hungry. Chris hired 20 family members and the other board members could only hire one. Shirley has had enough and don't want any parts of Chris and his F.B.I. investigation. Shirley still talks to Chris to keep the peace and to keep her sister a job.

Of course, this statement from Fields sounds like, finally, he's hitting the mark, but a number of Fields' previous actions have belied ostensibly sincere statements that he has made. Take his statement, shortly after he arrived here, about unifying the board. Of course, we know, in retrospect, that this statement was pure, unadulterated bullshit. Take his statement, contained within the Proviso Rising philosophy, that patronage hiring would be curtailed. Tell me Fields, who is this Sloane guy that recently procured a janitor's job?
Tell us, Fields, why do we continue to piss money away on "Dr." Libka until June of this year when the sum total of the man's contributions to the district are microscopic? Why do we continue to piss money away on the ghost payroller, Kyle Hastings, who has been exposed as a premier political leech that needs to be immediately and summarily booted out on his ass?
Tell us, Fields, why did you fail to appear on the radio show last Saturday?
The answer to all of these questions is that Fields is, in my opinion, a charlatan, manipulator, deceiver, and coward. He cannot be trusted. It's only a matter of time until he cuts and runs.

Question, why is Chris Welch playing both sides in the Melrose Park trustee election?Why is he being such an ungrateful person towards Melrose Park Mayor,Ron Serpico(who has supported him in the past)!He is supporting the candidates of Jesse Martines and Ben Mazzullo for trustee in Melrose Park. He then writes decent things about there slate on his Insider blog spot, calls Serpico tells him he is with them, but then goes out with Mazzullo and Martinez and tells them he'll be helping them on election day and spreading dirt to them about Serpico!What does Welch think he'll acomplish with this back stabbing manuever? Is he playing Serpico and Mazzullo? I do recall he did the same thing,along with Gene Moore ,Ben Mazzullo and Jesse Martinez during the past township election against Frank Pasquale and Mary Herrell and then hired Mazzullo's wife at 209 with a ghost payrolling job.If I was Serpico I would be furious knowing Mazzullo's wife is working at 209 and that Welch is protecting her and that Mazzullo is running a ticket against him and spreading lies about him(that Serpico is going to be indicted soon) as well as Mazzullo having punched Serpico in the gut during a Mayor's meeting last year!
I wish and hope that Serpico be careful with Welch, he appears a deseparate man!
